Tips for undestanding the Bible/ consejos para entender mejor la Biblia

1. Purpose yourself to read or hear (audio) entire bible (Genesis to Revelation)

After knowing Christ for almost 5 years I had never even read the entire bible but when i purposed myself to do it, up until today, i am amazed of how much it has helped me understand it better. Doing this gives you a clear picture of the whole bible that helps you undestand alot better why it says something in a specific book. I have alot of study tools but no tool  replaces the constant reading of the Bible itself.

Despues de conocer a Cristo por casi 5 años, nunca habia leido la biblia entera pero cuando me propuse hacerlo, hasta el dia de hoy me sorprende cuanto me ha ayudado en mi entendimiento de ella. Al hacer esto te da un dibujo completo de la biblia que te ayuda a comprender mucho mejor lo que alguien dice en un libro especifico. Yo tengo muchas herramientas de estudio pero ninguna reemplaza la simple lectura constante de la biblia misma.


2. Buy useful stuy tools; I recommend the following:
Recomiendo las siguientes herramientas de estudio:

a. Strong's Exhaustive Concordance - this tool helps you in ways such as finding a specific verse (if you don't know where it is in the bible but know at least one of the words in the verse), to studying an entire topic by listing all the parallel verses (verses that mention the same word).

a. Nueva Concordancia Strong Exhaustiva esta herramienta te ayudara en formas tales como hayar un versiculo especifico (si no sabes donde se encuentra en la biblia pero sabes por lo menos una palabra en el versiculo), o a estudiar temas completos al darte en lista todos los versiculos paralelos (versiculos que usan una misma palabra).


b. Holman Illustrated Bible Dictionary - this easy-to-use Dictionary provides very useful information about biblical people, places, meaning of words, history, maps, charts etc.

b. Diccionario Biblico Ilustrado Holman (Spanish Edition) - este Diccionario es facil de usar y contiene buena informacion acerca de personas, lugares, definicion de palabras, historia, mapas de la biblia etc.


c. The ESV Study Bible or  The MacArthur Study Bible - These kind of bibles include explanations of hard to understand verses; it's similar to having a commentary. They give introductions to each book (who wrote them, why they wrote them, to whom they were written etc.) I have both of these bibles and highly recommend any of the two.

c. Biblia de estudio MacArthur (Spanish Edition) -  Este tipo de biblia contiene explicaciones de versiculos que son dificiles de comprender. Es similar a tener un commentario. Cada libro tiene indroducciones (quien los escribio, porque lo escribieron, a quienes se escribio etc.) Yo tengo esta biblia en español y la recomiendo altamente.


This study tools I recommend as the basic "must-have" for anybody who desires to understand the bible better.
If you preach, teach or simply enjoy studying the bible, these tools will help you very much.

Estas herramientas las recomiendo como "basicas" para cualquiera que anhele entender mejor la Biblia. Si predicas, enseñas o simplemente te gusta estudiar la biblia, estas herramientas te ayudaran mucho.

Vine's Expository Dictionary of the Old & New Testament Words- This dictionary focuses on in-depth word definitions in the original languages

Diccionario Expositivo De Palabras Del Nuevo Y Antiguo Testamento De Vines - Este diccionario se enfoca en definiciones profundas de palabras en los idiomas originales.

e-Sword - This is a great bible study software that you can download on your computer for free. It contains multiple Bibles, Dictionaries, Commentaries, Concordance Maps etc. It's the best free sofware out there. You must have it if you know english and have a computer!
